I could have written a better paced plot, with fewer holes, and the characters were flatter than my chest.

The setup of the story and setting, the characterization of Katie, and the slow-burn introduction to the Bigfoot creatures (Bigfeet?) were wonderful. I was never disappointed when we saw the Bigfeet, especially during the climax, which kept me on my toes.
Where this book lost me were the in-between chapters, the vignettes—interviews, book excerpts, etc. While many added interest and made for a well-executed “real firsthand account experience,” I found there to be a few too many. I also kept getting lost in the main narrative between action sequences, and I’m not sure why.
But overall, I enjoyed it and think I would read it again for the action and beautiful descriptions of the creatures and Mt Rainier.
