it reads like bad fanfiction and all of the characters feel really off the mark and after han solo kidnaps princess leia after shooting her with the "magic mind control gun" because hes insecure and wants to force her to fall back in love with him...and eveyone is just fine with that?? I honestly have no idea why they rereleased this book.

Not very well written, but highly entertaining, especially as Star Wars books go, in part because of how terrible aspects are, just like the old trilogy. I liked this for its nostalgia factor, and because it was actually an amusing read.

My only real complaint about this book is some of the dialogue that happens between Leia and Han, as well as a bit from Luke. Some of it's a bit corny and are not things you would expect to hear come out of their mouths. Other than that the story is pretty good and I rather enjoyed it. Leia is being courted by a prince of a star system they want to join the New Republic. This gets Han pretty jealous, so he kidnaps Leia and heads for a planet he won in a card game to impress her. They run into the Warlord Zsinj and some force sensitive witches down on the planet. Good stuff.
If you are reading in chronological event order like I am, this gives a pretty anti-climactic end to the warlord, who had been the prime antagonist during the last few books of the X-Wing series. But it is still a worthy read.

As a female Star Wars fan I am weak when it comes to romance. Yes, it got weird. Yes, it was pretty out there (even for Star Wars), but it was pretty awesome to read how Han and Leia eventually got married. Plus the very ending has a pretty hilarious twist in my opinion.
