Well written, but the story just wasnt for me. As a veteran wife and daughter, this book mostly just upset me.

Ugh, this was heartbreaking! It gave me vibes similar to Still Beating, which is one of my all time favorite books!

3.75 stars. Wow. This story was a hard one to read. Absolutely devastating, gut-wrenching, and heartbreaking. I’m at a loss for words. It really shone a light on the realities of war and the kinds of things soldiers often experience during deployment and when they return home. Sometimes, the person who gets on the plane is not the same person who returns.

The story didn’t just focus on this perspective, however. It also highlighted the reality for many military spouses when their loved ones come home. And while I rooted for both Gavin and Chris throughout the story, I would’ve loved to see Katy find her way back to her husband. But I understood the choices each character made, and that’s what matters.

Ultimately, I’m just glad that after everything all of the characters had to go through, they were happy in the end.

Hey friends. I have a new book to aggressive shove down your throat. It will

Spice: 1.5/5
Plot: 5/5

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

I cried more while reading this than I did with One Last Rainy Day. There, end of review lol.

If you want your heart to be totally ripped out and shredded to pieces and then put back together in the absolute best way, read this book. The way my soul ached while reading this is exactly what I’ve come to expect and love so much about Kate’s books.

I’m not going to tell you anything about it, except that it’s a military romance and it sheds a light on some really heavy shit. I will also say that there’s a lot of miscommunication in this, but it’s very necessary for the type of book this is.

I will never get over this. It’s going to stick with me for the rest of my life. It was so heart wrenching and beautiful and painful and healing and just… everything. I basically just cried from 25% on lol. There’s so much that I want to say. I want to rant and rave and share and cry all over again reliving this with you guys, but I also really want you to go in blind like I did. I’ll put some of my favourite highlights in my slides, so fair warning if you do swipe through them.

If you end up reading this, PLEASE slide into my DM’s so we can talk about it!!

This book deserves all the hype and definitely needs to be on everyone’s radar. 100% recommend, do not wait on this you guys! Fucking run and go read it right now! And thank you Lauren @romancensass for the rec!! You fuckin nailed it!

I’m gonna be a jerk and give it 4.5 stars just for that somewhat long epilogue but just know this book was fire!!! I didn’t not know who she was gonna end up with until the very moment it happened and I think that was the best way to do it. There so many books I’ve read that had two love interests and I knew halfway who she was gonna be with, but with this I was second guessing. I loved the characters and I was hooked on this story. It’s literally 4 in the morning and I have class but I just had to finish this book. (No sleep for me
