I thought the plot twist in this book was good, and there were a lot of interesting points to think about (e.g., Cast’s grief process and her understand of her own grief, the way the teens think about the Sinclair family wealth, and the family dynamics).

However, I didn’t feel that I really knew the characters. I knew what Cady felt, but I didn’t know any of their interests and true motivations beyond their love for each other. This made it difficult for me to be engaged in the book.

I did not expect the plot twist at all and really enjoyed it, once I figured out that plot twist I enjoyed the book a lot more.

anyway, any book that can make me cry
(mostly cause i felt so attached to these characters and their ending was depressing)
deserves 5 stars imp.

This was soo good, the mystery and intrigue was *chef’s kiss* fantastic, and the character development (particularly of Cadence) was really well done.

I definitely hadn’t expected that ending or the twist but will say, if you’re prone to sobbing during books (like me) then definitely have some tissues handy cause it gets pretty emotional.
