Holy hell, I cannot relate at all to all those who didn't love this book. E. Lockhart totally nailed it. That twist was everything and I felt my heart completely crumble with Cadence. Yes, yes, yes, a thousand times YES. So close to being a 5 star read for me but fell short in just a few minor ways.  Overall, highly recommend this book.

I spent most of my time hating this book. From the beginning I kept thinking how overprivileged and whiny these people were. I couldn't help but thinking "is this book called We Were Liars because people lie about how good it is?!" There's a specific part where I really considered not finishing it(TW: animal death) but I continued reading.
The twist at the end truly SHOCKED me. I wasn't expecting it AT ALL! In my opinion, the twist alone makes this book worth reading. But this book is 3 stars, at best.

*EDIT - I'm back a year later because I randomly think about this book and I have trauma from it now. I keep thinking about the dogs!! I hate this book! It's a 1 star book now.
