1st time i tried to read this, i got like 40 pages in and stuck, but then years later i tried it again and flew through it. i really think it's better than it gets credit for.

I picked up this book without any preconceptions, and I've got to say, it was an interesting ride. This book is definitely what you'd call a slow burn - it takes its time to unfold, and it's not a quick read by any means.

King really stretches his legs here, giving the story plenty of room to breathe and develop. While some might find the pacing a bit sluggish, I found that it allowed for a deeper immersion into the characters and the eerie atmosphere that King is so famous for creating.

Despite its length and deliberate pacing, I found myself drawn in. The gradual build-up of tension and the subtle weaving of supernatural elements kept me engaged throughout. It's not the kind of King novel that grabs you by the throat from page one, but rather one that slowly wraps its tendrils around you.

Overall, I'd say it was a good read. It might not be for everyone, especially those looking for King's more fast-paced horror, but for fans of his more introspective work or those who enjoy a slow-burning supernatural tale, "Duma Key" delivers. It's a testament to King's storytelling that he can make such a long, slow-paced novel compelling from start to finish.

I was completely gripped by this book from start to finish. Definitely a favourite Stephen King of mine from now on. Love the characters, the concept and the final conclusion.

Overlong, didn't really like any of the characters, story took a long while to get going, not that original, too much filler.
Overall, for me, this one was a slog and I didn't enjoy reading it that much. The story wasn't really worth the effort

Excellent book with very likable characters. A very fast read considering it was 625 pages.
