Amazingly touching! At first I thought this book might be a tad boring as it mainly takes place in one room (!) but it is exciting. I listened to it as an audio book and at the middle ust couldn't stop listening. It was very engaging and now I want to read more of this author!

Very interesting book. The beginning felt quite slow and I wasn’t sure where it was going to end up. It made me think of the differences between modern day children’s rights which didn’t exist until recently, in the grand scheme of things, and thankful for the systems in place to protect kids (in Canada) as imperfect as they may be.

honestly a good story but overdone in almost every way (the writing, the characters as stereotypes, the story itself (did it need to be this long?)) i don’t know man i just don’t know

Intriguing and thought provoking, not a high drama book yet still very high stakes and intense. Not a book full of twists, slow and the driving force is the emotion/concern/mystery

Storyline started slow but was really interesting read

set in Ireland 1800s and was centered around Irish catholicism. There were a lot of twists and turns I didn’t see coming. The whole story line is the young girl doesn’t eat for four plus months and how is she alive and well.

They explain the why and the how of surviving and so much more. Being raised Irish Catholic it brings back a lot of memories of growing up learning religion and how much has and hasn’t changed for their beliefs.
