I read this after watching the movie and if you’re in the same boat just know they are SO different but if we are comparing the book is better. An enjoyable read overall

This book started off very strong and pulled me through the plot pretty quickly. I liked the idea of unplugging from virtual reality to experience actual reality and all the political undertones present in the book. What kept it from having a higher score is how badly women are treated by the main protagonist and their presence seeming to be solely for his own gratification. Entertaining, but I won’t be checking out the sequel.

I totally LOVED this book!! I didn't pass it to my mom like I usually would, because I feel like it has a very specific audience. If you were a geek in the 80s, this is a book you should read. It was well written and paced nicely too!

I'm not sure I could have hated this book more. Interesting concept with immature writing. I've read better Twilight Fan-fic.

Really good but predicable

It was an easy to read novel, one that sucked you in. The first couple chapters' 80s references aren't the best, but an important part of the entire story. The ending was predicable.
