Rayos, yo tenía que hacer la review. Creo que es como que un 4,75/5.

A ver, me gustó muchísimo. Me encantó.

Me encanta. A+. I support. I approve.

Time travel, adventure, and conspiracy. I finished this book over the weekend. Its good to see a heroine who's no shrinking violet. I'm not in love with Gwen's several references to movies (which seem to be the only way she's remembered her history lessons), but the whole conspiracy theory aspect of the book kept me hooked. I'm just hoping the romance continues to take a back seat to the adventure.

SPOILERS:
This is my summary so I can remember what happened when I read Sapphire Blue. Less a summary than my notes to jog my memory. I've included my own personal conspiracy theories

Gwyneth Shepherd (the Ruby): has the time travel gene, see's ghosts, has not been trained, speaks some French and some German, loves watching movies with her friend Lesley, father died when she was 7 of Leukemia, has a younger sister (Caroline) and a younger brother (Nick).

Count Saint-Germain (Emerald): 3rd time traveller, seems to be in control of the secret society (The Guardians), power- telekinesis, threatened Gwen

Miro Rakoczy (Black Leopard): has saved Count Saint-German from 2 assasination attempts, experimenting with belladona, from Transylvania, possibly able to read minds

Paul de Villiers (Black Tourmaline): ran away with Lucy, possibly Gwen's real father?

Gideon de Villiers (Diamond): Gwen and Charlotte's love interest, 18 yrs old

Margaret Tilney: time traveller, refuses to give blood for the second chronograph, arranged for a surprise meeting between Lucy and Gwen.

Lucy Montrose (Sapphire): ran away with Paul with the chronograph, is trying to prevent the closing of the circle (gathering samples of blood for each time traveller), possibly Gwen's real mother?

Lesley: best friend, researches for Gwen

Charlotte: Gwen's cousin, was trained to be a time traveller

Aunt Glenda: Charlotte's mother, furious that Charlotte's destiny has been 'stolen' from her

Grace Shepherd: Gwen's mother, lied about Gwen's birth to keep her from scrutiny, scared for Gwen to become a time traveller

Lady Arista: Gwen's grandmother

Great-aunt Maddy: Lady Arista's sister-in-law, seer, eccentric

3.5 stars I'll round it up to four simply because it was so entertaining and I devoured the whole book in two sittings.
Down sides; even though the focus is the characters, their personalities aren't yet developed enough to make them likeable in their complexities. They're just simply obnoxious, or simply entitled, or simply naive. Not obnoxious but with layers of sweetness, or entitled but with a relatable past that makes you forgive their entitlement - you get what I mean?
However there are two more books in the series so I'll be looking forward to having this remedied.
