There was a whole lot of sex and not a lot of plot. And this is unlike any other alien erotica I've read. The book starts off with our heroine Hallie being taken by a warrior in something known as 'the Grab' - an event that happens where females of territories under the protection of Harcos warriors are entered to be potentially taken as brides. Many women actually want to be chosen because the Grab is one of the very few ways they can have a better life - especially if those women are from the backwards village of Harpers Well like Hallie. Although the author briefly brushes on the conditions that makes Harpers Well so despicable, I feel like she could've created a fuller story if she could have expanded on what life had been like for Hallie in the village. It would've been much more interesting if we began our journey with Hallie while she was living in the village instead of when she was in the middle of the Grab.
Now, what makes this book different is how prominent BDSM is for the Harcos men. The second Hallie is taken onto the ship, she is strapped to a metal table! There's even a scene where Hallie is pressured into going to some strange BDSM orgy partywhere she is humiliated by having her private areas exposed. I'm not the biggest fan of BDSM in the first place, but it was just so strange for me to be finding such a human interest in a book about aliens.
At the end of the day, this book is erotica and not romance. If you want pure sex and very limited relationship building, this would be for you. But if you want romance and actual plot and character development, stay far away.

Firstly I would like to point out how bullshit it is that I had to *ahem* find other means to download this book. This isn’t available on AU Amazon! What the fucking hell! That’s actually bullshit. I’m so disappointed and a little pissy to be honest. I’m slightly understanding because of the clear issues this writer had with Ellora’s Cave, but I still don’t understand why it’s not available for me to purchase in my country two years after publication….
Moving on. I won’t be reading any more of these until another book is published (if that happens) because I don’t want to get more invested in what was actually not a bad concept, and loving even more characters than I already did, because I just don’t think I’ll be able to handle it if I do and nothing happens from here.
Basically, this town Hallie lives in has signed a treaty with Vicious’ people and they have a ‘grabbing’ event where the women have to sign up to be taken as these peoples sex slaves kind of… It’s hard to explain really, but these alien warriors are all dominant and stuff and highly into BDSM, some more than others. There was even some very different stuff like making their women dress up and act like cats, which made me a little squeamish but I enjoyed the difference in sexual tastes that it showed. Usually these books are all the same and don’t show many different ideas of fetishes, but this went into some stuff that made the experience individual and for that I’m thankful. Hopefully this series does continue, because I did enjoy this book, just maybe not so much the writing style or the main female character to be honest. But that was personal. I also took stars off for the price, because that’s ridiculous, especially for AmazonUS when it’s the cheapest! (Stars taken off for not being on AmazonAU, the cover, and dislike of Hallie, also that it was very, very fast paced and a lot of drama)

Grabbed By Vicious is Lolita Lopez’s new sci fi erotic romance and the first in her “Grabbed” series. Lopez is a new to me author but after some research I see she’s a quite established author with a nice size backlist. When I read the back cover copy for the book it jumped out at me. I’ve been glomming sci fi erotic alien romances lately and this one fit right into my cravings.
Vicious is a very decorated member of his military and he’s decided it’s time for him to take a human mate. He finds himself surprised that the mating he chooses is a small female that seems to be bursting with attitude. To take her he must first best her in a chase. If she reaches the finish line she earns her freedom. If not, she becomes his in every way.
Hallie just wants to leave her pathetic planet and be free from everyone. A rough upbringing and horror stories about the aliens make her shy away from Vicious and what she views as his barbaric ways. She soon finds he is more then meets the eye and that their ways of living aren’t quite so different.
I really liked Hallie and Vicious together and thought they were well suited for each other. Even though Vicious is a trained leader and can be lethal at a moments notice, he goes out of his way to make Hallie feel comfortable with her new surroundings. A virginal heroine is never at the top of my must read list but it seemed to work okay in this one. The village Hallie was from seemed to be filled with asshats of epic proportions who went out of their way to make her life hell. Not that her home life was any better with a abusive father and brothers who looked the other way. Vicious spends a great deal of time assuring her he can be trusted and trying to figure out what she needs from him. As an erotic romance I expected the sex to be scorching, frequent and explicit. While I didn’t really find it inventive, it was everything else and I enjoyed every intergalactic minute of it.
Lopez introduces readers to a man who I really hope has the next book. Terror, Vicious’ best friend, is simply an AWESOME character. Tall, broad, scarred and full of supreme alpha-ness, I loved him! He seems to hide a lot of his emotions behind a surly attitude so it will be interesting to see him become unraveled over a woman. His presence in the book made the story line branch out a bit more then what I normally find in an erotic romance. I liked that Lopez went the extra mile to add in a longer, more evolved plot then just sex.
As far as dislikes I could say the same thing I say about all of these romances. There isn’t much variation between them. The story lines all kind of run together in these alien books and yet I still enjoy them. I still jump at the chance to read them. They easily pass the time and Lolita Lopez is no different. It’s hot, it’s well written and she’s definitely and author I would pick up again.
I give Grabbed By Vicious by Lolita Lopez 3.50 stars!

This was a Golden Dynasty knockoff I liked. Set in the future, but other than them being in a space ship , you would never know it. They act and talk like they are in 2015. This didn't have great story like Golden Dynasty. Half of it was porn fest. But I enjoyed it. It's a short read. Of course I'm reading next book in the series today.

Update - 7/4/23 - 3⭐️ from 4 ⭐️ I would’ve wanted more to their road to falling in love. It felt all connected to their physical attraction.
Vicious could have been a little more Alpha lol He was whooped pretty fast!

I cannot believe how much I LOVED this book. I'm not usually not into Sci-Fi but this book was so much better than any other Sci-Fi book I've read. Hallie is a great female MC and I love Vicious. Terror is a sweetie pie too. Definitely going to pick up the rest of this series. Highly recommend.
