Dave Berg tells stories about the background of booking guests (mainly from the world of politics and sports) with a little history of the behind-the-scenes strife that the Tonight Show experienced over the years. There were a few interesting parts and stories about the guests with a few bits of gossip sprinkled here and there, and for the most part the tone was cordial with very little mean spiritedness, and at times just a little dull--kind of like Jay Leno.

I usually don't read "show biz" type books, but this one looked interesting and I am a fan of Jay Leno so I gave it a shot. I loved it... it is so interesting to read the back stories about Jay and the guests that were on his shows for all those years. This book is well worth your time to read.

A quick an easy read about what happened behind the scenes of the Tonight Show. Written by a former producer, he gives all the gossip about guests (Garth Brooks brushes his teeth 15-20 times a day!) and talks about his working relationship with Jay (he sleeps 4 hours a day and has ADHD).
There is a lot of entertaining info and weird stories that kept me entertained but he comes off as petty and whiny when he talks about other hosts like Conan and Letterman.

Most of the book is really about the guests, not the behind the scenes working of the Tonight Show. The author comes off as somewhat self-important and self-focused. No one is buying this book to learn more about Dave Berg.
