This was really captivating. The writing was really beautiful and descriptive. I loved Alizeh as a main character. How smart, resilient, and kind she was. Kamran was an enjoyable love interest for this book. He was properly enchanted by her and their push and pull was full of tension and good dialogue. I’m interested in this new dynamic that’s been introduced with the appearance of Cyrus. I think this book was a little slow and it felt like not much was happening, but think that things are going to pick up after that explosive finale.
So the book honestly started out a bit slow, but the plot was super interesting and I’m invested in the rest of the series. That ending was EXTREMELY sudden though.

a lot of excitement for book 2. The first….third of the book kinda dragged because this is everything new——new magic system, customs, history (word to Persian mythology)——so it took a lot more effort to focus on the details unfolding and waiting for them to make sense. When I locked in, the book matched me and also locked in. I would recommend people read when they’re feeling patient 🙏🏾
So that was not interesting in the slightest but I powered through it in a day because I feel like the rest of the series is gonna be good
Personally, I felt like it was a little bit too poetic and prosey like I didnt know what half those words ment but it still managed to feel juvenile especially after all that is shatter me
