Definitely a slow start and the first half of the book is a little bland. The Jinn vs Clay is like fae vs human. Miss Alizeh is quite the underdog and we love to see it! The second half of the book really picks up and gets interesting..

Five stars because of the last 50 percent

It took me a while to get adjusted to the writing style and the whole atmosphere of the book, but once I got it, I was hooked. The writing is beautiful and the characters are very very lovable. I love Alizeh and Kamran and I want more more more. Chapter 28 was the everything that forbidden romance should be. I’m so angry because the last half of the book was obsession worthy and everything was just building up and now its done. I can’t wait for the next book.
Only complaint is that it takes a while to get into, but I think this is going to be good series.

3.5⭐️
I really did enjoy this, I think I just found something to be missing to really not let it hit that 4 star mark but I cannot put my finger on what. it was fun, interesting & I did really enjoy it. perhaps a bit more background explanation to Jinn v Human, I guess that element felt a bit rushed- just oh theyre so different, there is laws in place now, Jinns bad humans good. idk.. other than that + the less spice I prefer, great book! Will dive into the next one! the ending was great!

Decided to read it again so I could continue the series and I’m actually glad I did. I had so much more fun this time around

First review 28/02/24 ~ Ever want to like a book so much but the book itself is not helping you?

okay taherehhhhh you ate girlllll

the first half was a bit slower only bc it was setting everything up which I really like actually! it gives you a chance to really be in the world and get to know the characters. It also was all a set up that combined perfectly by the end, so the second half was so hard to put down cause you’re just waiting to see how it all works out.

I also LOVE the characters!! All of their dialogue is perfection and they're all so sassy. the banter is really good and ik everyon online talks about cyrus this cyrus that BUTTTTT Kamran is soooo 🫦 like the way he speaks about alizeh had my heart ripping out of my chest fr 😩 i’m so scared he’s gonna be the villain low key 🌚🌚🌚 anyways so good but 3.5 for the slower beginning but it’s the perfect set up for hopefully a 4/5 star sequels!

This had 0 plot, 0 world-building, awfull pacing, plot holes, nonsensical romance and, sadly, even 0 vibes. This was the most bland world I've ever read, it was supposed to be persian and Arabian inspired but it didn't feel like that, it didn't feel like anything. But I adored the female main character, and found the small relations between her and other characters cute and hopefull. so 2 ⭐️⭐️. I would love someone who agreed with this to advice me if I should continue
slow-paced

first half was good but then it got so boring and just dragged on. i am not a kamran stan, his chapters are so long and boring. if i didn’t already own the other books i wouldn’t continue

Well written with a good slow burn romance and interesting cliff hanger at the end. I just never truly connected with either of the main characters
