A fast paced little mystery. This is a short story, in case you missed that, therefore it moves pretty quickly. It takes place while Franki and family are out celebrating Christmas Eve. If you haven't read any of the other books in the series, you will not have a problem with this one. If this is a new author to you, this would be a good book to get if you want a little taste of her writing. The characters are fun and even given the shortness of the book, you still get a good feel for the characters involved. The mystery isn't too complicated or complex, but it's still a surprise. There is humor and some minor hi-jinxing going on. All in all it's a fun and mostly lighthearted, enjoyable read. It can be read in under an hour, so perfect for in between novels. :)

Christmas Eve with Franki's family. What could possibly go wrong?

I wanted to save this for Christmas, but I couldn't! Franki's a hard girl to resist. As I read, I'm a little horrified at how people treat each other - especially at a time of year when kindness is encouraged. But I loved how much story was packed (neatly and successfully) into so few pages. And Franki, as always, was feisty and got the job done.
