While the majority of the novel focuses on the budding relationship between Nick and Charlie, author Alice Osman is able to showcase a variety of relationships and queer experiences. From coming out to a parent to enduring hate speech and homophobic to having your first kiss with your crush. Heartstopper is a honest and wholesome read that showcases the queer experience (generalized) in an authentic way.
