Say what you will, but Agatha Christie is the Queen of crime and these short stories are her best (and I can say that with confidence, because I have read all of them). We find ourselves in the company of a writer, an artist, a lawyer, a doctor, an ex Scotland Yard agent and Miss Marple. The group decides to start a mysteries club, where everyone will present a mystery for others to solve. Watch with awe how Miss Marple puts everyone and their guesses to shame, while knitting. Do I need to say more?

Readathons:
The BookoplAthon: a steal book (a book from TBR of someone else)
Magical Readathon: Orillium - The Novice Path - Obsidian Falls - mystery or thriller

It seems confirmed now that I do like Christie’s short story collections, but only when they’re not about Poirot. I also am really looking forward to more Miss Marple - I think I only read a small handful of her books as a child but as an adult I really like her quiet intelligence.

I have tried Miss Marple twice in recent years - [b:The Murder at the Vicarage|11602151|The Murder at the Vicarage|Agatha Christie|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1328343048l/11602151._SX50_.jpg|2589654] & [b:At Bertram's Hotel|282857|At Bertram's Hotel (Miss Marple, #11)|Agatha Christie|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1331541359l/282857._SY75_.jpg|1444048] - and I didn't get on with either of them. But I want to read more Agatha Christie, especially after reading Lucy Worsley's [b:Agatha Christie: A Very Elusive Woman|59822447|Agatha Christie A Very Elusive Woman|Lucy Worsley|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1640614383l/59822447._SY75_.jpg|94222915] last year on holiday and decided I wanted to try and read a few more of Agatha's books (the first meant to be [b:Agatha Christie: An Autobiography|10296050|Agatha Christie An Autobiography|Agatha Christie|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1484232678l/10296050._SY75_.jpg|3038860]).

But when I saw this new version of the Thirteen Problems audiobook on my library's audiobook app (narrated by Juliet Stevenson), I couldn't resist. Plus, I wanted to see if what everyone has said to me was right: that Poriot works best in novels while Marple works best in short stories.

I get why everyone said this now and I think I agree. This collection was a delight, much to my surprise (like I said, I had audiobooked two Miss Marple in the past few years and neither worked for me).

This has made me want to read more Marple and I have a few titles in mind: either going to try [b:Sleeping Murder|56809461|Sleeping Murder (Miss Marple)|Agatha Christie|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1611546531l/56809461._SY75_.jpg|739878] or [b:A Murder is Announced|11063341|A Murder is Announced|Agatha Christie|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1581953394l/11063341._SY75_.jpg|2288775]. I haven't decided which yet.

***Will write a longer, better review in the near future as need some more time to think about it***

I love Agatha Christie, but I'm not sure if I love short stories. For some reason, I had a lot of trouble getting into and staying focused on these.
