I really liked this one!! the ending was kind of unsatisfying but satisfying at the same time

I struggled to finish this book because it didn’t grip me, which was disappointing. A murder mystery where the murderer is one of the victim’s best friends? Sounds great! But the execution was lackluster.
The biggest issue was a lack of sympathetic characters; I didn’t care about any of them, especially and including the murder victim. The book seemed to drag on with the first 3/4 full of almost-there details and backstory.
The last quarter was the best. Things started to be revealed and you learned more about characters and connected the dots. For part of it, I was even swept up in the storyline! That spark is what the rest of the book was missing but it is also the author’s first book so I don’t want to disparage it too much. I would like to read some of her other books to see how her writing prowess has grown!

CW/Freeform show waiting to happen. Dramatic "pretty" petty people. It was as expected.
I really disliked this book. The characters were vapid, uninteresting and very one-dimensional. I found myself getting distracted easily while reading because I just didn’t care about these characters at all. Not the worst book I’ve read, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
