This book was absolutely amazing! It swept me back into the world of Lundinor with a love for the characters as if they are dear friends of mine in real life. I want so badly for Lundinor to be real <3 I can only dream. I absolutely recommend this book and can't wait to read the next one by Jennifer Bell.

Loved the character developments and the drawings. Can't wait for book three.

I absolutely adore this series and hope it continues!

The Smoking Hourglass is equally good and whimsical as the first book, The Crooked Sixpence, and I loved delving deeper into the Uncommon world. While it doesn't quite have the dept and scope of series like Harry Potter, I think it has a similar quirkiness to it, in the relationship between the world we know and the secret magical world, and their parallel existence.

Karl James Mountford's illustrations are also my favourite thing right now, which is just a cherry on top with this series.

I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. The second book in the Uncommonness series had that same charm that drew me and held my attention in the first book. Imagine the wonder and excitement of Diagon Alley but instead of visiting it only once a year, you get to visited four times. Plus there are other Diagon Alley is in the world, I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series. This was a 3.5 stars for me. I liked it and then some.
