I can't do it. I can't finish this one. It's been like pulling teeth to get as far as I did (80% -- ugh). I know I should rate it based on the actual story/writing/characters, but this story is just not for me.  I started it without knowing what the tropes were and reverse harem just isn't my jam.

It also felt like even though the FMC is mostly blind, she kept describing scenery and people, which she physically can't do. It maybe wasn't intended to read that way, but it absolutely did for me. 🤷‍♀️

I finished this book two days ago. And it’s taken me two days to calm down enough to be able to write a review.

When I tell you I fumed at the ending. I finished it at almost midnight and it took me an hour to go to sleep because of how mad I was.

First off, this book was amazing. The writing was so amazing and the banter was hilarious. I was laughing so hard at her inner monologue sometimes.

I am in love with Fergie. She is such a baddass. She is a black belt in jujitsu. She did a couple moves on people but I’m really looking forward to her wailing on someone with her crazy moves. She’s blind but it doesn’t stop her in the slightest.

I’m not going to speak much on the guys. I loved them to until that last two pages of this book. It ends on a cliffhanger. I think I’m mostly mad because I hate miscommunication or issues caused by a lack of communication. And that’s essentially what happens. Fergie changed her name because of an “incident” at her previous school. To start over, she gets a new identity from her new stepmom. She isn’t supposed to tell anyone but after getting in with her stepbrother and his friends, she decides she wants and needs to. Of course, they find out before they have a chance. They think she’s been lying to try and betray them so they turn around and destroy her.

At the first test, they don’t ask her what’s going on or give her the benefit of the doubt. They just assume the worst. Even though she told Cassius part of her background and what happened to her. And they’re hypocrites because they said they would never use someone’s sexual relationships to hurt them yet they post a video of the four of them having sex to intentionally hurt Fergie.

If it is going to be three books, I really hope she doesn’t forgive them for like 75% of the next book. There better be major major groveling. And even then, I want her to kick all their butts and just leave.

Fergie is a bad ass.   A story full of secrets and spice and morally grey men.   It does end on a cliff-hanger so be ready with book 2.
When history repeats itself, I want to believe the boys are not to blame..I am starting book 2 to hopefully prove my theory correct.
. Was slightly annoyed at the self-promotion, but that won’t stop me from reading more by Holmes.

I’m honestly not even sure what to think…

Firstly, I hated the cliffy.

Second, I’m honestly having some hang ups with some of the things I read here.

Like, the FL is blind but when Cas knocked her into the pool and she didn’t know which way was up or down or if she was safe and she went from rightfully p*ssed to letting it go in the literal next second bc she was turned on by him?? Ohmygod I wanted to drop kick this guy in the throat- don’t worry! He’d probably like it!

That was a solid fcking no for a sightless person. You do NOT assume they’re going to be totally chill with being manhandled to the point they can’t “see”, being out of control from their surroundings, trusting others to navigate their disability and what they need to feel safe like they would. Oh my god I was salivating FIRE by the end of that scene. AbSoLuTeLy NoT.

I had some more issues with how easily the FL quickly turned her back and made the tryouts for the backstabbing and betraying b*tch club when it came to ruining someone’s life- her only friends life- so simply after going through it herself. I’m not asking her to be Mother Teresa or a pure of heart ducking kind of person but HOLLY H€LL SHE DID NOT FLINCH.

Look, the beginning of this novel was Soooo good! I was hooked! I couldn’t put it down. I stayed up mad late reading it for as long as I could before I HAD to go to bed and I made it to like 45% of the way through off of that one go alone. The problem tho, is the 50% and a bit before is EXACTLY where this starts to get a little silly (stupid).

And I’m not saying I hated this- I still read every single page after that 50% mark where my head started blaring alarms at me, but I felt like a switch flipped in the FL at some point and she just, FELT different. Like she was a totally different character from the one I had been introduced to.

Being mad chill with a man eating lion situation out of the blue? Weird. But then rolling into a

I love a good RH but this felt more like just cheating. Also too many inconsistencies. Euro can’t see color yet she keeps describing the color of things to Fergie???
