A sweet and uplifting novella by the master of horror/suspense/doomsday fiction. In the age of Trump, King must have decided he needed a palate cleanser from his usual tale, and this one is enjoyable in every way. Enjoy!
I habe mixed feelings about this one. On one hand, I like the message and the fact that people come together who wouldn't have otherwise. On the other hand, the characters in this novel were pretty stereotypical. Regardless of that, it was still a decent read. Not one of my favorites by him, but not bad.
I am a huge King fan, and am accustomed to his brilliant tomes. This being a small novella, I wasn't expecting an epic journey. This is a simple story but has all of the subtle character details and descriptions I expect from him. Plus, of course, a bit of suspension of disbelief is required. It touches on a sociopolitical issue with King's perfect touch, but is really simply a well-written, pleasant short read.
I liked the main story, it actually made me cry, the second story wasn’t typical King.
I just really loved the simplicity and mystery of this short story. Something about King’s writing resonates with me.

Surprisingly pleasant read from the King of Horror (haha, King....I didn't even do that on purpose....). I love everything Stephen King writes.
