Cheesy story with a sad ending, a fun little read about perceptions, prejudice, and community. As a lesbian I was surprised by the nuance this story included about the main couple’s lived experiences.

I honestly loved Elevation. After having read the reviews I knew what I was in for : a cute little story. I'm also currently reading It by Stephen King and was glad to compare one of his first work with his last one.

I loved the writing. Pretty much nothing happened, but King writing was simple and effective and kept me captivated all the (little) while. I liked the underlying text about life and death, which was both deep, beautiful and a bit... Worrying. Are you alright Steve ?

Anyway, I think it's definitely something you'll appreciate if you're "in the mood". Having read a lot of Murakami lately I kinda felt similarities between the twos, and found King better at it 🤷

I chose to read this in its audiobook format. The story itself is impactful, powerful, and haunting, but hearing it in Stephen King's voice adds an extra layer to those emotions.

Short and easy but didn’t really pack a punch imo. Also the random short story at the end just felt unfinished and weird. Overall cute idea but not my favorite.
