I may have been reading this with the mindset of getting more canon Jurdan content BUT I absolutely love everything about this book. Amazing plot, perfectly executed, characters that I absolutely adore (👀 Cardan? Jude?)

A bit sad about the Ghost’s not-death situation since I actually liked his character but it was bound to happen

Can’t wait for the next one!!!!

I didn’t like this book as much as The Stolen Heir because while I really enjoyed the story from Oak’s perspective, I felt like Wren’s character had a different vibe and I liked her character and perspective more in the first book. In the first book she was more rough around the edges and gritty and while she does grow in this book, I feel like the second book lost that feeling a bit and it got overlooked. Also the voice actor for Oak’s perspective this book was great, but I felt like he didn’t voice Wren as well as the voice actor for Wren’s perspective did in The Stolen Heir. In the other book, Wren had a raspier, harsher, more clipped voice but in this book the voice actor made her have a breathier more light, airy, and confident voice, which didn’t fit her vibe IMO. I definitely still enjoyed this book a lot though, Oak’s character is fun and both Oak and Wrens powers are very cool and interesting to learn about and see developed.
