this and the queen of nothing are my favourite books in the folk of the air series!!

4.75! SOOO GOOD! oak is such an unbelievably compelling character but i’m still not connecting with wren unfortunately! if there’s any way holly black is reading this review btw, i need the book about jude and cardan going to the contest in the undersea like i need the air i breathe.

Okay, nakabawi si ghorl dinhing dapita. Nice ang character development, and the plot twist after by plot twist that I missed. Therefore, 4.5 stars.

I think in the past when I read Jude & Cardan’s story I was post TOG so therefore it felt so juvenile and weak. However two years later finishing the Novels of Elfhame duology, I’ve come to respect and enjoy how whimsical and fantastical she makes her characters/stories. It’s so unlike what already out there. I really enjoyed this story with Oak and Wren; like truly that was a well written book with a lot of political intrigue and slow burn romance. All in all a great book
