A delightfully prosaic day at the zoo goes very differently if you read the text than if you follow the pictures. Sometimes counting noses isn't enough; parents, you really need to check and see who those noses belong to! I love that the animals were watching the kids and learning from them and trying desperately to be helpful, while the parents were just being largely oblivious. A charmer!

For: penguin fans; readers looking for a book filled with sarcasm and sly humor.
Possible red flags: the target audience with enjoy the silliness of the book, but the humor of the conflicting text and pictures can be missed.

Cute premise. This is definitely worth reading twice, because I missed several things the first time, like the animals trying to point out the switcheroo, and the big stink in the penguin house. I also missed when the final switch happened.

Don't miss the story within the illustrations and compare them to what is being said in the text - often with hilarious results! Very fun!
