i can't get over how much i love the pregnancy trope <333 i fucking adore it.

lia and jude were the cutest

idc what ANYONE says. I am a die hard accidental pregnancy trope stan til the day i DIE

I hate couples that don’t talk it’s so annoying grow up. And the main girl was so self centered and expected Jude to grow while she did literally nothing. Worst book I’ve read this year.

Nando’s Spice Rating: Lemon & Herb / Wild Herb

I mean I don’t think I’ve read a sports romance book about football (and I mean the real one) at all / in a long time.

Some parts of England seemed too stereotypical which was so cringe especially knowing the places.

I did like Lia more in this book than in Faked; she was definitely more likeable.

This book just lacked conflict for me so it read very underdeveloped.

Since I love the Ward family, I did enjoy this aspect of it but of the series, this book was the most disconnected which is probably since it’s not set in the same location.

Floored was a beautiful and light-hearted love story. I found the relationship and character development of Lia and Jude very well-written. Unfortunately, they weren’t my most favourite couple, but it’s really hard not to like anybody from the Ward family. Isabel is the last one to go. Keep up!

I always love a Karla Sorensen book and this one did not disappoint.

I'm not a fan of the surprise pregnancy trope and I don't hide it but this one was done really well. I loved the chemistry between Lia and Jude with the added tropes of the age gap and sport. Their love story started out back to front but it works for them and they both complement each other so well. There are definitely some hurdles that they have to overcome but they manage to do this together after ironing out the bumps.

I love the Ward family and their relationship doesn't change with an ocean between them. It was great to see all the family so involved and really bring the sisters closer together which I didn't think was possible. Their relationship is so authentic and really added to Lia and Judes love story.

3.5 stars

One semester in Oxford, started out with one sweaty night with a hot british man. A positive pregnancy test.

When I realised that Floored has a one-night-stand turned baby storyline, I wasn’t too excited. It’s not easy to pull all the pieces together seamlessly to built a functional relationship during a pregnancy, and to find a realistic way to tell the father right after finding out about the pregnancy.

The first half of the book was a five star read for me. From the chemistry between Jude and Lia during their one night stand, to how Lia found out about the pregnancy, telling Jude about it and starting to get to know each other, it was absolutely amazing. Pretty much everything I worry about with this trope worked out so PERFECTLY. They were so at ease with each other, with being in the moment. I especially loved all the Football vs American Football banter.

This is where my issues started. While they were so good with the present, I feel like there was no talk about the past or the future. We got to see blips and glimpses from Jude, but mostly by reading between the lines. And while Lia at some point voiced her concerns, she didn’t really tell Jude about anything regarding her past, or her plans for the future. If we hadn‘t already known Lia, and her story, from the previous Ward books, I would know very little about why she is the way she is, and we don’t get a feel for how much she told Jude about herself besides about her sisters and Logan.

Even after finishing the book, I don’t feel like I know Jude. I know some about his issues, mostly through context. I am sad that his team, apart from their captain in the locker room, wasn’t a part of his life. It seems like Jude went to practice and matches, and scowled at everyone around him. I wanted to hug and smack him up the head at the same time.

It feels like that the few real talks they had about their lives, as well as big parts of their relationship building, happened off page, which is absolutely frustrating to a reader that LOVES communication.

Heartwarming and Steamy

Lia and her British footballer Jude have a bit of a bumpy road but Karla Sorensen does not disappoint! Jude has issues he must get over. They live on different continents! They do everything backwards. But the Ward family will prevail! I cried real tears for this one. So many emotions. I can't wait for Forbidden!
