I really loved this book and this series. I loved Andrea Stewart’s world building ability and her ability to write fully complex character’s no of this “I’m a perfect hero” stuff. All of her “good guy” characters make decisions with the best of intentions but it doesn’t always work out and it’s a refreshing take in the fantasy world. This is one of my all time favorite fantasy series and I can’t wait to see what Andrea Stewart can come up with next.

A beautifully woven ending to this series! It did feel a little too low-stakes at moments, which made the payoff not as fulfilling as it could have been. But as with the previous two, Stewart writes intricately, descriptively, and with individual voices for each character. Also, gay.
