Pretty good

I really like this series. Some things aren't for me, but I think that's kind of the point. To open your mind and make you more accepting.

While I can't wait for the next book, I will say, this one didn't grab me as intensely as the 1st one. I read it in 1 night because I couldn't get enough of the story but this was very different than the 1st book.

In Turn & Burn, Shelby gets her revenge on her stepbrothers, or so she would have us think. The boys are great liars. Great talkers and although little Shelby has grown up and come into her own, she still makes mistakes (like we all do).

I didn't want to punch the characters as much in this book, accept for her mom. Her mom is a terrible person. I have a really tough time reading stories were mom's put their daughters down - then we wonder way women are so terrible to eachother? It starts at home people. But anyway, I CAN NOT WAIT for the 3rd book and if anything, I think that makes this book worth checking out.

Read in order though!

Turn and burn

I’m not sure if I was more shocked by the fist book or this one. Quite an in interesting turn of events in this book.

Some redemption.

It was so nice to see Shelby show back up, ready to refuse the role of victim! The characters were much deeper in this second book, and seemed more authentic to me. I was still gutted by the ending, but as I’m about to read the third installment, I’m hoping that is solved!

This book picks up about 4 years after book one (Gas or Ass) ends, and you will want to read that book first to understand the characters motives. Shelby (whose POV we are reading) is about to head home for the first time since she ran off, some 4 years ago, to help celebrate her step father's anniversary with his NASCAR career. After some smart mouthing off, she finds herself pulled back into the racing game, only this time the stakes are much much higher. She is not only pulled back into the racing game, but the sex games as well. Though she's not sure if she's being played or not. The sexual content isn't as a major component as it is in book one, but it's there, have no fear. It expands some to include M/M and F/F action. That tabooness if still there as well. There is a little more action playing out. All the same great characters. You may grow fonder of a few, but you will probably start hating a few too. Once again, it sucks you in. It does end in more of a cliffhanger than book one did.

Wow just wow!

I loved this book, it’s crazy and taboo and sometimes mind boggling but it’s amazing and fun and totally binge worthy!
