This book has got to be on of the realest books I have read. It was not all happily ever after. It was emotional and realistic. The story of Elin and Ty is what normal people go thru. Yes we all love our billionaire bad boys but really how realistic is that. These are two everyday people going thru the rough times in life and marriage. I loved this story. Granted a cried like a little baby a lot it was well worth it.
This was so beautiful, poignant and breathtaking! I was captivated from the start and moved by the struggle these flawed and wounded characters endured. Elin and Ty loved each other from the very first look when they were young teens. They planned their life together and it was all going as designed, until it wasn't. They suffered devastating events that shook their very foundation. They both delt with it in different ways and couldn't understand why they weren't in sync. After a fight that separated them briefly, Ty is home and determined to prove to his wife that he is a stronger, better man and will never leave her side again. They never stopped loving each other, but do they have the strength to try for a second chance, and trust that they won't break their heart for good? I loved both Elin and Ty for their strength, love and devotion, and was totally consumed by their hard fought journey. I also loved seeing the relationships they had with their family and friends who added so much heart to this story as well. Locke skillfully revealed this story in alternating past and present sequence allowing me to be truly engaged both emotionally and thoughtfully. She expertly weaved a tale of sacrifice, loss, and heartbreak, but ultimately of hope, healing, forgiveness, and love.
I loved Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield's stunning narration. They are so perfect as Elin and Ty, and their brilliant delivery gripped my imagination and compelled me to feel everything these characters think and experience. They embodied these characters perfectly making my heart race from beginning to end, and I was totally mesmerized by their performance.

Audio Review: Written in the Scars by Adriana Locke, Narrated by Lance Greenfield, Emma Wilder
Locke certainly knows how to tell a story. Written in the Scars is an all consuming dance with heartache that will leave you breathless. Elin and Ty's turbulent journey of love, lost and found is devastating. From the endearing to the heartbreaking, the emotions cut deep. Greenfield and Wilder are hauntingly soulful in their narration.

I absolutely LOVED this book!!! It was so beautiful....both in the writing and the story. The characters stole my heart early on and I got ALL the feels!!! Love that I can always count on an amazing, original story from this author!!!
Soul filling
Wow, this was not what I expected. But it was life - real, raw and unfiltered. Though I literally loved and cried reading this book, I loved that the lessons spoke to my soul. Highly recommend it!

It took me a long time to finish this book because it is such an intensely emotional story. But what a fantastic, well-written book! I loved the Landry Family series and this stand-alone (that has references to a character from that series) is quite different in that the humour isn't there, but there is a masterful telling of a story that includes several hard themes that challenge the main characters' relationship. One more reason why Adriana Locke is one of my favorite authors!

Star Rating: 5 stars!
Well...I wasn't sure how i was going to be able to write the review for this book, not because it was bad or anything like that because it was far from that ..very far. This book was my everything and i couldn't put it down for one second <3 even now I want to go back into it and just be with the people in it.
Elin Whitt has everything or so it seemed until an accident basically ripped her happiness right from her and she as no idea if she can get it back and if she really wants to. Bound with so much hurt and resentment for the one person who was supposed to be with her but wasn't is what is holding her back. Can or will she be able to come above the hurt and everything she hides behind to make it work?
Tyler Whitt is broken and I mean that in every sense of the word. An accident has left him hollow and feeling things he never thought he would and it kills him and more importantly its killing him to see what it is costing his wife who he loves so much that he knows he cant taint her with his problems even though he should be able to. Why is he shutting her out? What if she could help him?
This story was beyond a 5 star read for me but since I can only give it 5 stars for the review ill do that. This one was a hard pill to swallow for me after some events in my life, I could relate to Elin fully and I understood what she was feeling and going through. Elin was and is the backbone to the group in this story it seems and it fits her, the pit bull.
Now for the heartbreaking part of why I had a hard time ending this book, I literally was trying to make dinner and I had tears still flowing because it just hurt. There is one person I was so anxious to keep reading about and just wanted more but I didn't get it. I was crushed. He was my favorite above them all and then nothing.
( DEEP BREATH )
If you are looking for a truth telling, beautiful story that gives you a true glimpse into the life of a marriage and of loss then this one is definitely for you. I will say that there will be tears, lots of em, but then you will smile and then there might be moments where you scream NO! But then you will be smiling again. I did all of that mostly towards the end of the book but the smile I had after I finished was a happy one laced with tears, the best kind.

I've tried to write what I thought about this book several times and have erased the sentences multiple times.
Here's the deal. It was okay if you want to read drama for drama's sake, and have a character thrown under the bus at the last minute for additional drama and emotional reaction.
Maybe my black heart isn't cut out for these types of books. I need more substance and plot. More than "get out, you left me, I'm broken and angry" and "I did it for us, I love you forever and will get you back"...Then suddenly without more than a few thrown statements they reconcile and live happily ever after. Oh, that is of course after naming their yet to be born child after the busboy.
I'm going to read some horror and mystery novels where the drama is with reason. Mostly.

Elin and Ty are very much in love but are dealing with injury, fertility issues and marriage.
Love this story is about a blue collar couple from a blue collar family.
