This book was not good! I really struggled to finish it. I pretty much had to force myself to finish it. The writing is awful! At times I couldn't understand who was talking or make sense of what the author was saying. My mind would wander while I was reading it because I was sooooo bored! I'm very disappointed because I like the idea behind this series, but author did not execute it well. I won't be reading anymore of this series.

The discussion about rebuilding muscle mass and learning how to use new muscles even with super-healing
Talking about how grief is never a linear thing and that's ok
Frank discussions about power imbalances between Elena and Raphael and trying to find solutions for those (though most of those discussions were resolved with sex, so... a plus and a minus?)
Things I didn't enjoy:
The resolution (don't ask which plot because the answer is yes). It was fast and messy and felt like it was a resolution on a deadline really
The just constant talk about daggers and sheaths, just no
Talking about needing to be strong enough to be intimate... Like, I get it, her body's recovering from some pretty serious damage, but, ew
Jumping from Elena to Raphael's head and back within a paragraph with no indication and yet sometimes having entire chapters from just one or the other... If it's supposed to be symbolic of how they're getting more enmeshed in each other, it just doesn't work.
All that said, it was fine, I'm gonna continue my reread.

I seem to be in the minority here but I can't finish this book. I rated it cause I passed the 50% mark and got the overall feeling. Here comes my rant aka review:
I got bored with the constant use of male bla bla , powerful bla bla and beautiful. I got it we are in a romance mainly and he is an angel but really nexxxt. I liked the plot and the romance in the beginning but the writing was cringe at best and I started to skip the scenes between H and h and I almost never do that. I don't know how this happened cause I wasn't annoyed in the first book.
Illium was the only thing that was saving this thing for me. He really intrigued me and I liked the sense of friendship between him and elli.
After the first book, I was planning on binging this series but now I am not sure if I'll even come back to finish this.
