This was really good. But it reminded me too much of shatter me which pissed me off. Especially the fact that her touch can kill him. Like you couldn’t think of anything better? And the fact that is name is AARON !? But spelt differently like don’t piss me off bitch. ALSO the chapters didn’t need to be 40 minutes. But other than that it was good. 3.75 stars

I'm so sorry 😭 I wanted to like this. I really really did. I thought this was going to be a 5 star read for me and it just... wasn't.
It was so slow. Like SO SLOW. I felt like the first 250 pages were a whole lot of nothing. 🥲 The plot and pacing dragged painfully for way too long. The world building was convoluted. The magic system was confusing. The characters were overly complex. It felt like too much was being crammed in and none of it was interesting enough for me to be excited about. 😭 It was all just a big blur of meh.
I have a love-hate relationship with the FMC while the MMC was quite likeable only because he was easily the least complicated character in the book. 😅 The last 20% was great but by then, I really didn't care about anyone or anything in this world. 😢
To everyone who loved this book, I'm genuinely so sorry I didn't love this. I really wanted to. I stuck it through because I wanted to give it a proper chance and the premise was promising. Unfortunately, this just wasn't for me. 💔💔💔

This has everything I love: great world building and magic; complex characters; grey morals...and a good slow burn. I could not put it down and definitely will grab the next book immediately.

I adored this book. And a FMC without a single spell of insufferability; divine. The plot, the writing, the characters, everything is lovable. So well written I can’t believe it’s a debut. Hashem is easily on my fave authors list. Can’t wait to read every book she writes.
