Adorable. I wish it was a smidge spicier but there’s truly nothing to complain about here. I love that this has all the trappings of a good rom com without the standard tropes, it sorta starts with a fake dating trope but it’s immediately tossed out the window, these people know what they want! The instant gratification is a pleasant change from the norm. Very cute!

I was really excited for my first Jasmine Guillory read. Unfortunately, I felt this one was underwhelming. I didn't feel any connection or engagement with the characters or stories. They felt one-dimensional and flat. However, I am still keen to read more from Guillory.

The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory 314/310 pages
 The Wedding Date #1
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Chick Lit, New Adult, Realistic Fiction
Featuring: Sex - the detailed, California: L. A. and the Bay, Interracial Dating, Doctors, Lawyers, Texting, Fake Dating Trope, Racism, Cancer
Rating as a movie: NC-17 for sexual content
My rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
My thoughts: page 56 of 310 - I'm enjoying this one so much I don't think I want to juggle another book.
109 - I feel like this slowing down so time for a break and I might start The Roommate.
266 - I think I know exactly where this is going.
I read one chapter then ignored The Roommate which seems like a good story. After I write this review instead of returning to The Roommate I'll be starting The Proposal. I just ordered the remaining 4 books in the series. I think I found a new author to binge. This story was refreshing and she had some new tricks because I didn't know exactly where it was going. Most romances follow the Jane Austen patterns so you know there's going to be a falling out due to lack of communication and jumping to conclusions and a reunion and happy ever after before you start the book, the key is how is it going to happen. The hows surprised me. I really enjoyed this book. I read until I couldn't read anymore and then as soon as the sun came up I finished it.
Recommend to others?: Yes. I'm going to read this entire series based off of this book.
