I grabbed this book when I needed a lighter read after something that was pretty heavy, and it did the job. But it definitely reads like a debut book. I especially found the love scenes a little vague and repetitive. I read one of Guillory's other books this past summer so I know she's really grown as an author since then. If you like the fake dating trope, long distance relationships, or heroines who are fat, Black, and/or good at their jobs, this will be an easy read to pass the time.
