This book was so interesting and unlike any analytical psychology book I have ever read. Her dive into women’s wild psyche is so methodical and magical. Her love of folklore/stories and the use of it to explain the Wild Woman is extremely intelligent. My favorite part was her comparison of the wild woman psyche to wolves throughout to hit her points home. It’s one of those books that makes you really think about your life and mental health. It makes you want to go out and create, find a path less traveled, and to not hide your teeth. Reading it made me think of my favorite things — digging my hands in dirt to repot my plants, the smell of a book and the feel of it’s pages, watching steam rise from hot tea, sleeping outside on a windy night, the crackle of a campfire. It’s a book you read a chapter, you stop, and you have to let it soak for a couple of hours before moving to the next chapter. Truly a well researched, well expressed, and well written piece of work.

I do not recommend this on audiobook due to poor narration and the fact that the abridged version was the only one available, but I'm interested in the subject matter enough to want to pick up the hardcopy of the book in the future.

The stories from history were interesting and I liked the overall content. Some of her views seemed contradictory though.

Hmmm. Listened to the audiobook which was fire. Don’t really relate to the message but it was interesting to hear. Felt reactive to a world I don’t see so much of anymore, but that’s just little me
