Binged. Loved. There’s something very simple about the narrative style that works so well with the gruesome nature of the plot. My only gripes are the switch from 3rd person to 1st and the POV skews.

A promising story that is told really well. However, the ending felt a bit unresolved. Despite this, it still deserves a 4-star rating for its content.

The story line was good, a little predictable but not in a way that it ruined the book at all, more in a way to keep reading to know if you’re right and see how it all ties together. Super easy read to fly through

This was fine for a thriller. It was fairly predictable. The FMC came off as seriously naive for a supposed established psychiatrist who specializes in treating killers. Robert was a more interesting character as the father of one of the teen boy victims of a notorious serial killer who is also defending the alleged killer. It’s just so incredibly predictable. The twist is not a twist if you’re paying attention when Dr. Gwen decides the killer must suffer from multiple personalities. *****SPOLIERS***

She never once considered the killer might have a partner. Nope. Definitely multiple personalities. And she has to be the world’s worst psychiatrist to not see that her weird relationship with Robert, who hires her to do a psychological profile on the serial killer as the defense attorney for the accused after sleeping with her, is not just him trying to get information out of her about another client of hers. Yes, I saw the “twist” about half way through as to who one killer was and once she went with multiple personalities I got who else was involved. Since the start of the book starts with a death that is seemingly unrelated but the one that keeps popping up throughout the book, I “solved” that one pretty easily as well. I liked Robert. I didn’t of course agree with many of his actions but I understood them. The ending did not bother me at all for him. In fact, I kind of wanted to hug him. Losing a child in such a horrific way. The most interesting part of story to me was the teen boy who escaped and points the finger at the alleged killer. My heart broke for him and I was angry on his behalf at parts and sympathetic and just found myself wanting more of his story.

Like I said, it was fine. Not a great thriller as it had a twist that wasn’t too twisty.

That was a disappointing plot twist. I feel like there should have been more Easter eggs and smaller plot twist leading up to the big one. The characters kept saying “___ is hiding something I just don’t know what” WHY DONT YOU TRY AND FIGURE IT OUT THEN and why continue to trust them when you know they’re lying…I did enjoy the multiple POVs although at some points it was difficult to tell who’s POV I was in. Unfortunately this did not satisfy my need for a solid thriller book.
