using this as my review for part 1 as a whole cuz i think it should be read as a collective.
i really love this book. i love how everything written in it is so purposeful and how everyone ive met (who has read and enjoyed it) has been touched by the story in so many different ways. there are lots of things i could say but ill just say this: what i took away from chainsawman is (and ill spoiler tag just in case)our flawed 'human' nature is what allows us to lead such rich lives with each other - a world with no bad movies means a world with no good ones. even if dreams are small, they are important, and we are all connected by these dreams and our ways of achieving them. i really tried to keep it brief!
i think most of all i love the heart of this story and how it tells such a seemingly simple idea in such an abstract way. it sounds odd but i am so impressed at how intricately it discusses humanity/human nature/dreams as a whole (which are very ambiguous and pretty difficult to do).
i don't want to say much more because this is just a review, but if you're on the fence about reading it i highly recommend. even if you're not a manga fan, give it a shot and hold out until the end of p1. i believe that the author makes good on all the promises he makes at the beginning of the story. if nothing else, you can enjoy the absurdity that is the world of chainsawman, and the stellar art while you're at it!
