Universal truths that seem very basic and yet sometimes take years to learn.

“you don’t need to look a certain way to deserve someone’s heart.”

I received this audiobook through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. ✨
I absolutely adore Amanda's poetry so I was excited to reread one of my favorites of hers with her narrating. And I wasn't disappointed. I loved it so much and it made me feel so much more with Amanda herself narrating her words, especially with the music here and there.
My only problem was with the quality of the sound, it had an echo and was just so bad but that's unfortunately the NetGalley app.

I really enjoy her poetry. It’s relatable and beautiful. She uses metaphors everyone understands with the princesses and doesn’t skim the hard parts of life

Another absolute classic from Amanda, love love LOVE her poetry. A great short read for anyone who needs a reminder of how wonderful and healing self-love can be and how we can be the princess, the fairy godmother AND the prince in our own lives. Just brilliant.

Cute enough. There were a few pages that hit for me but a lot of it felt repetitive and a little derivative, like affirmations I could have found on Pinterest.

at this point, anything could be considered poetry lol

ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

A completely novel approach to the Retelling genre.
For those of us who grew up loving fairy tales but always craved more.
This fits perfectly with Lovelace's Women Are Some Kind of Magic Series, which is high praise in itself.

I often say that we tend to be much kinder to the people we love than we are to ourselves.
We would never say half the stuff we tell ourselves in our worst moments to our loved one - and isn't that really telling?

This book is like a conversation with a loved one, it strips away the harshness we often inflict on ourselves and softens the edges, soothes the hurt.

I can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of this series.
