I really enjoyed this book! Definitely more YA than the other Colleen Hoover books I’ve read—safe for high schoolers and maybe even 8th graders. I LOVED the slam poetry throughout the book and feel like that could really inspire young people to use it as a way to process life events or emotions. Pretty cool!

I really thought I wouldn't like it, but it was amazing and the ending was so sad. The other two books are not translated in my language so I won't be reading them, but I liked where it ended, although it was really heart breaking!

It quite unbelievable that I actually read Colleen’s first book ever. The first thing I’d like to add, from this novel, her writing was so extremely so different from her later books. She really had a glow up as an author. This was perfect but as usual I’m so accustomed to extreme heartbreak and this wasn’t that extreme like her latest stories. This one was sweet, simple and slightly sad. I think Will has to be my favorite fictional male written by her, because the way he treated Layken was so amazing. He pushed her yea but he did it for good reasons. Layken was an amazing character also and I loved the relationship she shared with almost anyone she met. Her mom, her brother, Eddie and her friends, etc. This was an amazing read and I truly loved it

I wanted to love it… so many clichés. Felt a little too high school for me. Not Colleen’s best.

This book is so good! It's one of my absolute favorites, i finished it in less than two days. It made me laugh and it made me cry.
Layken and Will's relationship was so believable. But when I read the blurb before I read the book, I thought the 'shocking revelation' would come half way or three quarters of the way through the book not after the first few chapters.
I loved the supporting characters in the story too. Kel, Caulder, Eddie, Gavin and Julia all gave something to the story and weren't just fillers in the plot.

Truthfully, the only reason this book crossed my radar is because of the author's significant references to my favorite band, The Avett Brothers. I was a little leery of reading it for that reason only, but it turns out a number of my friends have read and loved this book. I think, however, I should have stuck with my first instincts. It was a sweet story, with a lot of truth about people and relationships. (That's to be expected if you are liberally quoting The Avett Brothers.) But there was a lot about the story that I thought was unbelievable - mostly how Lake and Will began their relationship oblivious to the things that would tear them apart, and the very fast pace in which most of the novel's events take place. It was just all a little too contrived for my taste, and while I'm not sorry to have read it, I think there is a reason I did not come across it sooner.

Such a good novel. I'm left speechless.
I just can't. I can't even.

This book was so much fun. I love what Colleen Hoover has created and how she interlaced her TAB inspiration and admiration. This book is warmness and heartfelt. Congratulations, Colleen!
