I was really in the mood for a good romance, with student teacher relationship. And I picked up slammed, I told myself i wouldn't reread books this year but i already failed in the firts month of the year.

Slammed Is one of my first colleen hoover books i ever read. I remeber loving it so much that i couldn't put it down. And I realize now that the story has is flaws and I did get another perspective this time reading it. But I still couldn't put it down and finished it in one day. Colleen hoover has this kind of writing style that just let you get sucked in and Finish her book in one sitting.

Lake and Will. Their romance Is pretty insta love but it kind of works with this book. They have one amazing date and then everything falls apart. After that one day they don't really get togheter again for most of the book. We get moments and all that but i FEEL that after the hurt and anger they become sort of friends. because Lake needs that. I don't know I just like how their realationship is written and how it evoles troughout the book.

Age gap romance/ student teacher romances, Need to be done in a surtend way for me. But when they do that I will 99 % love it. Slammed did a good job. I feel that Lake is mature enough for Will but also that she is still an teenager. The way she is angry at him or the way she is eith ther mom and friends Also will is an adult, with his work and raisin His brother he is an adult. But with her he feels like his age. and it just works.

I do feel that the story is a bit to perfect. I know her mom is dying and the whole teacher thing but how everything plays out and how it starts. I feel that there could have been a bit more, maybe it was to sweet or maybe its just me but something is missing from this book and I don';t know what.

Anyway I like the story, the writing and all that. Slammed is a great book to read. And colleen hoover only gets better with each book so I highly recommend her and this book.

Stars 4,0

Liked it, yet not as much as I would have hoped. Still curious to know what happens next though ;)

I think that this was a really, really solid debut novel for Colleen Hoover. I had a few issues with the writing style, but I'm sure that it improves in her later works. This book was super sweet and cute, but also a little sad. I will definitely be picking up more of her books in the future.

A friend recommended me to read this book. And read it in half a days time. This book is sweet and short. The author @colleenhoover has slammed the book.

Few lines which inspired me, from the book:
🌟Find a balance between head and heart.
🌟Push your boundaries, that's what they're there for.
🌟Keep an open mind; it's the only way new things can get in.
🌟Never regret.
🌟Question everything.
🌟Be accepting.

oh man this was so bad. so hilariously bad. it's got to be a joke, right? colleen are you joking?
I'm giving Slammed two stars because the absolutely ridiculous nonsense had me cackling. Let me share my favorite moments.
Spoiler
"'It's poetry.' He smiles at me. 'It's what I'm all about.'"

I cringed so hard. Layken, please find another man. This guy STINKS.

"I now know the purpose behind the demand for red Kool-Aid. In front of us, lying flat on the ground beneath the rear of my Jeep, is a dead snowman. His eyes are small pieces of twig, shaped into a grim expression. His arms are two thin branches lying at his side, one of them broken in half under my rear tire. His head and neck are sprinkled with a trail of red Kool-Aid that leads to a pool of bright-red snow about a foot down from the snowman.
"'He was in a terrible accident,' Key says seriously before he and Caulder break out into a fit of giggles."

THE KIDS DID WHAT????????

"She laughs. 'Man, you pay attention. And no, I'm an only child. Born to a mother with a yen for cheap crack and pricey babies.'
She can see I'm not following.
'She tried to sell me. Don't worry, nobody wanted me. Or she was just asking too much.'"

I'M SORRY WHAT????? Am I supposed to just be okay with Eddie suddenly telling me she was the plot of a y/n fanfic??? and we just gonna gloss right over that and move on??? girl ok

"I jump out of the shower; my clothes are drenched. I try to open the bathroom door, but I can't, because he's holding the doorknob from the other side. 'Let me out, Will! Now!'"

*deep inhale* *closes eyes* Layken. This man Locked. You. In. A. Bathroom. instead of talking through your feelings. HE LOCKED YOU IN THE BATHROOM!!!!!! THAT IS A RED FLAG!!!!

"'Lake, if my baby boy wants to be a cancerous lung for Halloween, then I'm going to make sure he's the best cancerous, tumor-ridden lung there is.'"

I have no words. I am actually speechless. Is this real? It's my favorite quote in the whole book. Most unserious line I've ever read.

"There is a faint rumble as people walk toward me. I'm surrounded, being pushed and shoved in different directions as the crowd grows thicker. It begins to disperse just as fast and the silence slowly returns as everyone makes their way back to their seats. I return my gaze to the stage, where dozens of dollar bills are haphazardly thrown at the emcee's feet."

Alex, I'll take Things That Never Happened for 500 please.

Oh wow. This was such a whirlwind. I almost feel bad giving it two stars because it was so unserious and funny the whole time. Even the poetry slams are so bad, so stupid, so cringe. I'm sorry but Layken reciting the definition of the word "mean" and calling it slam poetry would've got her bullied into next Tuesday. Oh man. This should've stayed on Wattpad.

amazing! the poetry was so beautiful...I couldn't put this one down!!

i’m going to SLAM my head into a refrigerator if i ever read another coho book

I ran in to another book lover at The Avett Brothers concert two weeks ago. She mentioned she was attending the show solely based on all the references to The Avett Brothers in the novel. Naturally, I had to take this book off my TBR shelf and find out what drew her to the show.
There isn't too much I can say regarding the meat of the novel. It was an easy breezy read. I probably would have enjoyed this one more as a lazy summer beach read versus ramping up for the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Loved this series !!! Had twists and turns and each book kept me interested to learn more!!

This book was so good, at the beginning I thought it was ok, and that maybe because I had heard so many good things about it, my expectations were too high. But NO! After I reached certain point in this book, I was either crying or laughing... this book gives you so much feels!!
