“Life happens. Shit happens. And it happens a lot. To a lot of people.”

I really liked this! Of course I did, I mean it's COLLEEN HOOVER.

It is her first book she ever wrote and I'll admit, it was very corny and did not make me adore this like some of her other books.

I really don't know what else to say about this except that like her other books, it's very addicting and pretty impossible to stop reading.

So my overwhelming thought about this book is that it came along when I needed to get sucked into the pages of a book and didn’t let me surface until I had devoured all the pages – granted in the early hours of the morning! I don’t know if it was particularly well written, but man by the epilogue tears were leaking.

There’s nothing important for a literacy point of view, though it was the best New Adult book that I’ve read in a while, but the characters are awesome and it’s playing through my head so much that I could direct it’s film!

I wonder if her other books live up to this hype…

I don't know why this was recommended to me

I'm still debating whether I should give it 2 stars or leave it at 1, but there are so many bad things in this book that I feel it outweighs any positive emotions I might have had while reading it.

Another CoHo book that ended faster than I wanted. I love her incorporation of poetry. She’s so creative and smart and it works with all of your emotions!!

Eh. Hard to get behind this one. I like the integration of creative writing and poetry. I enjoyed the parent-child dynamics between the main character and her family. I could not ever get behind the main story line, got the ick due to the teacher-student dynamic and couldn’t get my mind to support them as a couple, even with the things that attempt to justify it.

3.5
A little over-dramatic & clichè at times but all in all a fine romantic story that does make me want to read the other 2 books in the series.

This Colleen Hoover book did not disappoint. She is turning into my version of Lifetime movies when it comes to books. I don't like Lifetime movies or romance books. But the characters Hoover creates makes me not care about insta-love and heartbreak in early adulthood years. I willingly go along for the ride and enjoy all of the emotions that come along with it.

Parts of this book were frustrating, like the main character falling in love with the love interest after one date. The protagonist was your average angsty door-slamming teenager. I did enjoy Eddie's character as well as the younger brothers. It was definitely cheesy, but kept me turning pages! I felt like the ending happened pretty quickly and the "happily ever after" between Lake and Will seemed too easy and rushed. Despite these faults, I still enjoyed it overall. More of a guilty pleasure read than anything. Makes me want to start listening to The Avett Brothers again!

Reread on audio, wasn't as good as I remembered
