Reading in spurts means that I have less of a sense of the book as a whole, but I finish this having genuinely enjoyed what this was—some of the themes resonated quite personally, while others were just so moving because I wanted so badly for the author to get what she wanted (I knew nothing about her and ended up Googling to find out). For a memoir about someone I didn’t know it existed, this was very good.

DID NOT FINISH: 28%

DNF @ 28%.  I really enjoyed the opening, but quickly lost interest as this just wasn't really for me. I was hoping for more about the career aspects of being a late bloomer. But it quickly has devolved into being the last bride and mother of all her friends. A cursory look at reviews tells me this isn't going to stop,, so I will. I wasn't into the writing style or the tone either. It came across a bit "I was fashionably late to this and now I'm the star."

I really enjoyed Doree’s take on being a “late bloomer” and how, just maybe, we aren’t meant to be on the same timeline as everyone else.

Thank you, Doree.

My one sentence review: I picked this up because I am an occasional listener of the Forever 35 podcast and found it to be a quick and engaging read, though as a self-identified late bloomer I found her experience so wholly different from my own that it was somewhat hard to relate to.
