This book was amazing. My heart was aching at the end of this book. I’m eagerly awaiting the release of the next book.
Following up on The Jasmine Throne, Tasha Suri released yet another fantastic novel. While the first novel suffered from pacing issues, with a slow first act and a long-drawn out climax leading to an over saturated final act, The Oleander Sword continues the story of the amazing characters from the first novel: Malini, Priya, Bhumika, and Rao all get amazing character development, as they suffer more and more. The book started out in a way I anticipated, and by the end of the it, I was completely along for the ride. It was exciting to see their stories play out, and the tragedy and heartbreak of the novel was extremely compelling.

Honestly it took me about 20% of the way in to get hooked, but I think that's just because it's been a year since I read the first one. I couldn't remember who several of the characters were. But then I got super hooked and just wanted to binge the rest. This is a stunning second book in a Trilogy. The politics, the intrigue, the battles, the betrayals and sacrifices and ANGST. I was very there for it. My heart hurts for these characters, in the best way.
