Mourning Diary

Of the Barthes books, this would not be the one I first recommend to people. It was a good read but not my favorite. I read it after “On Earth Were Briefly Gorgeous” which references this work. It is cool to see how “Mourning Diary” is interpreted differently by each reader.

This book is so pure. Barthes misses his mom. Would have read 500+ more pages.
