I loved their first book, I love their second one. Still thought provoking. Still very very interesting. It's awesome to see the world turned right-side out with the careful use of interesting data. I hate to sound cliche, but their work really did change the way I think. (Here's to hoping the change stays put.)
I loved Freakanomics. While this book is interesting it was not as good as the first book. I have heard the arguements that the first book was entertainment and not economics but I felt it made some interesting points. This book touches more on current arguements but,in my opinion, less in depth. Still a very enjoyable read and thought provoking book.
Meh... couldn't bring myself to finish this one eventhough I loved the first book. I don't know if it was the timing (the stop-start-stop-start way I read this book), or whether it was just the fact that I should've read the book in physical format rather than Kindle format, but in my opinion, definitely no where near as intriguing as the first one. Perhaps one to re-try at a later stage.
Lots of human interest stories here and how almost everything we encounter on a daily basis has a connection to economics. The chapters on global warming (one solution is to artificially create clouds, another involves building 18-mile high smokestacks to send power plant exhaust higher into the atmosphere), monkeys and whether they can understand money, and the problems with car seats were especially memorable to me.
Meh. Not as convincing, clear, or entertaining as the first one was.
If you read Freakonomics read this sequel. Another interesting study about microeconomics and how humans make choices.
This was a disappointing title for a number of reasons. It's very short. A lot of the material seems to have been covered in other recent books by better writers. The section global warming was both absurd and intellectually dishonest.
Fascinating stuff! I did think it was a little jumpy and hard to follow at times, but overall I love the perspective they bring to these topics and I feel much more knowledgeable as well.
will be back with better review.
note to self: enjoyed freakonomics better than sequel

If you enjoyed the first book, Freakonomics, this is a great follow on read.
