I enjoyed reading this. There were some language choices and jokes I found a bit iffy, but the book as a whole is good fun. It combines humour and angst in a way that I quite enjoy; it made my chest ache. A lot of the conflict was based on very flimsy misunderstandings, but the angst that came from it was quite fun.
I liked the dynamic between Bonnie and Jack. They had decent chemistry and I enjoyed a lot of their banter. I also thought the parts where Bonnie was working through her feelings about her break up with her fiance were quite well-done; I really felt for her and I liked that the book took the time to focus on her development in that area. With regards to Jack, I actually found him a bit of a flat character. He had moments where I liked him - for example, I liked how once he realised he had feelings for her he didn’t shy away from them - but sometimes I found him overly harsh and I didn’t think Bonnie always deserved his reactions.
However, I didn’t really like the subplot involving Bonnie’s father. At first I wished it had been a bit messier - I think it would have been interesting to not have it all turn out to be her father’s fault - but then as the plot developed and I realised where it was going I didn’t really like it. I didn’t find the ending very satisfying and I didn’t really like how it resolved between them.
But the book is definitely entertaining, if nothing else, and I did enjoy the angsty parts quite a lot. I just didn’t find it as interesting as the other two books in the series and I think that some of the external plot overcomplicated matters in a way it was hard to work back from, and I don’t personally think that was pulled off as well as it could have been.
Content Notes: Hate-to-love, workplace, boss/employee, age gap, millionaire/billionaire.
Warnings:
Other:, rough sex, age gap , infidelity / cheating (in past), OM drama , OW drama .

Oh. My. Word.
I swear this book was actually written for me.
I read the vast majority of it in one day, literally could not put it down, was desperate to stay immersed in it and got all the way to the third act (which as we know with romance novels, is nearly always if not always, a break up) and I had to fully STOP because I found the feelings so incredibly intense my poor little heart was physically struggling and I had to take a break and mentally prepare.
I WAS NOT PREPARED.
From the very start of the series I've loved the snippets of Jack's sassy banter but couldn't picture him very well and couldn't for the life of me work out what sort of love interest he'd be given. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined this and I LIVED for it.
He is the epitome of the big, buff, hairy manly alpha body type, he's an absolute sweetheart AND he fell in love with Bonnie first many years before the book is set. I can't. I simply cannot.
Bonnie was incredibly relatable in terms of personality, right down to the types of books she reads, artistic/crafty hobbies, clumsy habits and people pleasing tendencies and it made the book that much more entertaining for me, my immersion only getting ruined when her blonde hair is mentioned. The big blue eyes, I have, but the hair, no. But then there's a LINE about pink hair and a nose ring. I LOST it.
He walks her through a panic attack by having her listen to his heartbeat, he knocks on her door in the pouring rain in a tux, he gives her his dead dad's necklace, it's all just too much, his dad's freaking murder investigation is involved. He treats her with so much care and respect the whole time and she's been through a lot so when the third act came it was a reasonable fight, understandable from both sides and just absolutely devastating.
The make up though?!! And the ENDING?!! Perfection.
This is literally the best romance novel I've read all year.

I thought its going to be an enemys to lovers kind of thing with good banter.
But they know each other before and he wanted her all the time. There is a little animosity on her part but she wants him nevertheless. She just does not want to want him and is sending different signals all the way while also loosing her shit about her exboyfriend who is her boss moving on.
i just got bored and annoyed with her.

It was a fun, easy read! Although I get so annoyed when characters don’t just TELL other characters IMPORTANT INFORMATION. Its my least favourite way of creating conflict after misunderstandings.
