This was my first Megan Lally book it was really good. I listened to the audiobook. I didn’t expect it to turn out how it did. I thought Brooke was guilty of something but not murder. Nor did I expect Jenna, Dylan, and Felix to be involved in getting Brooke to confess! I will definitely be reading more by her!

honestly, I picked this one up because I liked the cover and it looked a bit ominous (which I love in a book!)
Switching between "before" the incident and "now", we are told the story about Brooke's perfect life and her plans to better her life. She wants to move forward from that fateful night, but someone is determined to pull her all the way back in. Everyone should know what really happened that night. So what will it be Brooke, truth or die?
I love how you start off thinking that it can't be that bad, maybe an accident blown out of proportion, Brooke is such a good person and she really cares about her friends. The way good writing can twist that first impression is something I am obsessed with. And Megan has well and truly pulled that off in this book. I will for sure be looking for more of hers to read!

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for access to this book in exchange for my honest review.
I love a good thriller and this was definitely good. I really didn’t see the ending coming. Maybe I am just gullible lol. The narrator did a fantastic job at keeping you invested. Highly recommend! It’s a quick and easy read.

This was a bit disappointing, since I enjoyed That’s Not My Name, I had high hopes for this one. However it fell flat with the characters, that were quite unlikable and snobby. And, I couldn’t stand the complete 180 character change 75% of the way through. This book is definitely YA, but it felt way to juvenile at times, so, I can definitely see more of pre teens enjoying this way more. I would have loved it in Middle School. Sadly, I wasn't that interested in the mystery, and I didn't feel like there was enough suspense. The big 'reveal' was kind of obvious, there wasn't really a big plot twist. But on a positive note, the pacing was decent.
Very pleased with this thriller! It was one of my highly anticipated 2025 releases, and it didn’t disappoint
