Enjoyable but these two were my least favourite characters in the whole book? I probably would have loved this when it released & I can definitely feel its age when reading but it’s not super bad. Wish they spent more time together & out, will read another.
2016 - I read the ebook
2/27-2/28/2022 - I listened to the audiobook and the narrators did a good job.

“I’m your safe place, Libby.”
“That’s the thing with endings in real life. You never know when they’re going to happen.”
I love a good rockstar romance just as much as the next person, so when I heard that author Kristen Callihan was writing one, I just knew I had to read it!
Told from dual points of view, Idol sucks you in from the very first page. From the moment you meet Libby and Killian, you just have to know more about them. When we first meet up with Killian, he literally crashes into Libby’s life. Libby isn’t too crazy about him, when they first meet, but the two of them find a common ground and slowly build a friendship. For Killian, he is just taking a time out from music. Things got a little too crazy. Too real. So, being around Libby is like a breath a fresh air. She doesn’t recognize him and for the first time in a long time, Killian is treated just a man; not a musician. Libby has just been going through the motions in life. She’s stuck. She’s got so much hidden talent, but is afraid to put herself out there. As she grows closer to Killian, she not only wants to live the dream, but wants to live it with Killian. Will this unlikely pair take a chance on love??
I really enjoyed Idol. I thought it was a quick and easy read. I devoured this book in one sitting. I loved the story-line. You can never go wrong with a rockstar romance! I loved the characters. They had a very real quality to them and were easy to connect with. And of course, they had me dying to know more.
I loved Killian and Libby. I thought the two of them had amazing chemistry. Their connection was instant and you could just feel the chemistry just oozing off of the two of them. Killian was totally swoon worthy and not at all like you would expect a rock star to be. I adored Libby. She wasn’t afraid to tell it like it was and once she learned that Killian was famous, she didn’t let it go to her head. I liked how real she was and how she had the same relationship hangups that a regular woman would have and when she did take a chance on music, I appreciated how she wanted to try to earn the band members respect before letting them know that she was with Killian.
My only complaint was with the pacing. It felt a little off at times for me. It was slow to get into, and at times, I felt like it did drag a bit. However, once I got into the story, I was able to overlook the slower pace and just enjoy Libby and Killian. The pacing may not be an issue for everyone, it is just a pet peeve with me.
Overall, I really enjoyed Idol. This book hit all the marks for me for a good rock star romance. This book made me laugh. It frustrated me at times. It made me swoon and fall in love. And I surprising enjoyed that there wasn’t a ton of drama. I think the VIP series is off to a great start and I’m looking forward to seeing who’s story is next and what lies ahead for the rest of the band members.

I loved the book, although at some point I thought both Libby and Killian were acting like idiots, I get why.
I can't wait for Scottie's book.
