Oh Agatha, and her world of murders and mysteries. The creativity and imagination she had to write all the stories that she did. I liked this one. Not as much as a few of her others and more than some. I tend to either really like them or be kind of “eh” about them (looking at you, Mysterious Affair at Styles and Murder on the Links). This one falls more into the former category, although I was able to mostly guess accurately who the culprit was from the beginning.
For a book about 300 pages (my version was, anyways), Poirot doesn’t make his entrance until after the first 100 pages, which is the background and build up of the murder. The next 200 pages is the investigation, leaving you to wonder who-dun-it. There are several characters we meet and follow, and like other mysteries, you have to pay attention to all the little pieces to come to a verdict. As we meet and get to know our suspects, we see jealousy, resentment, passion, and regret. To whom does the biggest motivator lie with? Read it and you'll find out.

It's been a little while since I've read/listened to a Christie novel, so it was fantastic to follow along yet another winding plot. I think Christie did a great job of passing suspicion between characters in this one - Poirot feels a bit like a side character in this one rather than the star, but an enjoyable read nonetheless.

Um pouco diferente daquilo que estava à espera, mas uma leitura interessante para os momentos passados na piscina (de preferência sem sangue).
