Note: I don’t have kids so this probably didn’t hit me as hard, but still Very torn on this one because it was oh so real feeling and I could see lots of women being too infuriated to read it or enjoy it. I still think men and women could benefit from reading this one - lots of good discussions on invisible work in the home.

This was so predictable. I read ahead to the final chapter to see how it ends and I rolled my eyes so hard. I seriously do not care about this world, the problems the characters are facing, or how they go about solving them. I think the prose was well done though. I'd say this just wasn't for me. I think I will put my copy in the little free library.

Alexa, play “Nobody’s Perfect” by Miley Cyrus… because it seems like this is the national anthem for all husbands of America with this one.

Nora's been married to her husband, Hayden, for nearly 10 years now. They have a beautiful four-year-old daughter, Liv, and Nora is in the midst of one of the most important years of her career as she potentially approaches partnership at the law firm she works at, while also finishing up the first trimester of her second pregnancy. But sweet as her husband may be, he's not the most helpful partner, always needing to be told what has to be done while simultaneously calling her out for being a nag or being unfair to him. When, while searching for a new home for their growing family, Nora stumbles upon a group of high-achieving women with loving and supportive husbands in their potential new neighborhood of Dynasty Ranch, it's not a stretch to say she's entranced. When they hire her to look into the wrongful death of the husband of one of the women, Nora begins to have some seeds of doubt planted in her mind. Things seem just a little too perfect, and the women seem too keen on their widowed friend moving on with her life. What exactly is going on in Dynasty Ranch?

A quick, Stepford Wives-esque reversal with some serious underlying tension. Throughout the whole book, I was so angry for the main character. It made it hard to put the book down!
