I get the #wtfthatending hashtag - the twist was very clever and unexpected.
What I didn't like was the part of the story that made the ending possible. I prefer my crime to be more straightforward.
That said, it was well written (hence the four stars) and the multiple unreliable narrators were very well handled.

3.5 starts down to 3. The loss of 1.5 stars is only for 2 REASONS:

1. I have read hundreds of books in my day and Louise must be one of the top 5 dumbest characters ever written. Every 5 minutes I kept saying OUT LOUD to NO ONE IN PARTICULAR “how friggin’ STUPID are you Louise?!?” I mean she made every bad decision you could possibly make it was astounding.

2. At first, the ending made me put the book down for 10 minutes and hug my blanket because it was so spectacular. Then, I took some time to critically think and now it’s…impossible and undeserved. The second door part of the plot already lost me because it wasn’t what I expected/wanted but then the ending?!? It made no sense and Sarah did not give ANY indication that this was possible. Nope.

This is hard book to review without leaving spoilers. So I will keep the review as short as possible.
Louise meets David in a bar and after a brief flirtation leaves.
The next day she finds David is her new boss.
When dropping her son off at school she literally bumps into Adele and goes for a coffee with her.
Only to find out Adele is David's wife.
Ok love triangle, psychological thriller............You know where it's going, read it before. NOPE!!
Sarah Pinbourgh turns everything on its head. You will be amazed by this book and will be gobsmacked by the ending.

I read this shortly after watching the Netflix miniseries. I actually loved that I saw it first because then I could read it knowing the twist at the end! There were things I liked better in the book and things I liked better in the miniseries, but I really thought it was a cool idea.

3.5 stars - What the f*** have I just read?

I wanted to get this read before anyone who had watched the Netflix series spoiled it for me..

It is a crazy ride with some equally crazy characters..
Adele is clearly mental and Louise is an easily manipulated pushover. Some of the things she does made me want to scream ARE YOU FOR REAL?!

It is incredibly gripping, the seriously mental, sociopath Adele keeps you intrigued to what her next move will be and how does she know the secrets her husband and best friend are keeping from her?

But the dreams and the doors just left me a bit MEH.. Why did she target Louise and how did she know she would have the same sort of dreams? I just didn’t understand. I felt like I was trying to figure out the

And as for the ending.. I don’t want to spoil but WTF. Seriously, wtf. NOBODY could’ve predicted that.
I just ruined it a bit for me. I’m now left questioning everything I’ve just read and the outcome for poor Adam.

Now onto watching the series to see how they have adapted this rollercoaster of a novel!
