So glad I read the graphic novel and not the book. That was so very dark. And oppressive. Do not recommend.

This is a perfect adaption of one of my favorite books of all time. The art is beautiful and devastating...better than what I could have imagined.
Easy 5 stars. Would give it more if I could.

Cormac McCarthy’s novel The Road is one of my favorite books of all time. How it finds hope in such a bleak setting is a testament to the writers skill. This adaptation by Manu Larcent walks in the footsteps of McCarthy’s work without overstepping but enhancing what is already there. The visuals are what make this book shine and give a vivid life to McCarthy’s words. No extra words are needed. We follow this farther and son seeing what they see, the horror and the beauty. A true work of art that has found a permanent place on my shelf.

I don't really know how to rate graphic novels; I don't read them often enough.
The story was dark and sad and I very much do not read those kinds of stories often. The art was stark and I enjoyed the use of color, or lack thereof; it really sold the bleak atmosphere of the story.

I never read the original, and I probably won’t know—not my favorite genre. The book is well illustrated but not a fan of the story, again not a fan of the the genre so take it with a grain of salt
